Cleaning out my father in laws place. He nor his parents threw anything away. Found this box with the part inside. In what year do you think that part costed $17.90?

Appears to me that the splines are worn as the internal seem narrow compared to pic of other one.

My guess on the year is 1960. Pictured above is the drive disk for a 60, they were made for 1952-1956, cannot imagine needing to replace one until the tractor was at least eight years old, maybe not but that is my guess.

Is it a new one or the old one put in the box for just in case someday? If new, what's the part number for it and is it for sale?

Looks like a used one as you can see the mark from the washer that holds it on. Found one in a box 15 years ago at my wife's great uncle place. But it was new and fit my 41 A.

Identifying Tractor Smells - by Curtis Von Fange. We are continuing our series on learning to talk the language of our tractor. Since we can’t actually talk to our tractors, though some of the older sect of farmers might disagree, we use our five physical senses to observe and construe what our iron age friends are trying to tell us. We have already talked about some of the colors the unit might leave as clues to its well-being. Now we are going to use our noses to diagnose particular smells. ELECTRICAL SMELLS
