found this engine block on E-bay. they don't know what it is, but did post a pic of the serial number plate on side of block.
I was wandering if someone could shed some light on this by telling me what this block is. Thanks in Advance, Boowah

SNM = serial number (it is an N not X)
5 = 4 cylinder
1 = gasoline
R = User factory (John Deere, Moline, IL)
A = application ???
034645 = engine's individual serial number
T = engine manufacturer (John Deere Dubuque Tractor Works)

The T24690 shows up as one of the castings used in 2020s and 2510s. It may have been used in others (the 1020 was a 3 cylinder so it wasn't there). It would be a 180 CID gas engine. The 2020 would have a T instead of an R as the user factory. The 2510 parts catalog doesn't show a breakdown of the engine serial number, but may be a possiblity. Are you looking for a block for something?
