38 B torques and clearances?

I am reassembling a 38 B that someone else
tore apart and need a little info. I've
looked around the archives and elsewhere but
can't find main and rod bearing clearances.
And I guess while I'm asking, torque #'s for
the mains, rods, head and anything else I'm
forgetting. Thanks in advance.

babbit type shimmed bearings the shims are .003 thick. take them out in equal amounts then tighten up the bolts. if you can't still turn crank then add an equal amounts back in. It is basically that easy.

same on the mains
not much info on the old ones for service. a bolt torque chart comes in handy too. just go by bolt size and grade 5.

Mains can also be checked with a dial indicator. If the crank is still in the main case easy way to check clearance is to fasten a dial indicator in such a way when you lift up and down on the crank you get your readings.
