Bought a yellow one

I bought my first tractor for 2022. Picked up a little Deere 301 gas (same as a 1520) with roll guard and canopy. It also came with a stone rake, brush hog and a finish mower. Was from a nasty divorce and I got a very good deal. Needs a little going over but nothing real major. It was originally orange under the yellow and still has the pulley for the front mount mower. Wonder if any collectors would be interested because it was factory orange? Maybe there are plenty more just like it? Tom

I had a 301 for awhile. It was yellow or kind orangey yellow. I believe it was considered a utility model. Looked for some pictures of it but couldn't find any.

I want to say the 300s had a 152 diesel? We repowered the one with 179, and the other had been re-engined as well, with a 164 I think.

Tx Jim I never checked the engine size. I always based the 301 being a 1520 off the fact it has the taller side screens, dash panels and a
bigger fuel tank like a 1520. The 300 has the shorter metal making it a 1020. I am surprised Deere made the other improvements without giving
it the larger engine. What engins does the 301A and 301B use? Thanks for teaching me something. Tom

I like the yellow ones

I also have a 400 and a 401-C, and I think the fuel tank and grill screens are the same height?? The 400 is a now a parts tractor and was about a 1968 0r '69. The 401-C seems to match up with a 2440, and was very late 70's or 1980.

If someone has a list, or what the letter suffix's mean, that'd be good to know.
