2010 repower

Are there any non-deck plate/non-sleeve bolt-in engine replacement options? I was under the impression that the 45 combine engines were all deck plate/sleeve type and was curious if anything would be a direct fit and was of the conventional design.
Thanks
Todd

I once saw a pic of a 2010 with a 6 cylinder engine. But if it was an early combine engine it would have been the same family as the 2010
engine. Part of the problem is the rest of a 2010 is not real good. Rather than spending a bunch of money on it maybe look for a 2510 or a
2020. Tom

I would love a good diesel 2510, but everything I find has so many hours its ready for an overhaul or asking price is unrealistic and more than I have. So Im looking to repower. FWIW, this tractor only has 1400 hrs. If I can find an HA165 gas, would the trans hold up to the extra 10(?) horsepower? Or should I stick with a 145?

As far as the 165 unless you are doing heavy tillage using maximum horsepower you will be fine. Lots of 2510's were upgraded to 219,239 and
even 276's. I have a good 165 still in a good 45 combine setting in a shed in MD. Not sure what is going to happen to it as the property will
soon be for sale and I am not planning on hauling it to WI. Tom

Tom,
From a horsepower perspective, is there any reason to use a 165 over a 145? What is the horsepower of the 165?
Thanks
Todd

You will gain a little hp. The biggest reason to go with the 165 is the availability. Years ago there were plenty of 45 combines to be had
cheap. Dad sold the engines off 3 or 4 to go in 2010 diesel crawlers. Combine engines are usually good as they are started and worked not let
set around at idle or started in extreme cold weather. Tom
