What plow or disc for 820?

We have a small hobby farm where we breed and train a few horses, a family milk cow, some grass fed beef, and a bull. The soil is mostly sandy. I love my 820 and will never change tractors. We use it for mowing pastures, harrowing arena, moving round bales, and blading the drive.

Here is my question. If I ever wanted to move beyond our raised bed gardens and put in a small row crop, what plow disk thingy sort of implement might I want to have that would go well with the 820?

You're talking 820 three cylinder right? Probably 2-16s or 3-14s three point mounted. I'll get hung for saying it, but brand of
plow won't matter. That's in a moldboard plow. I don't know what you mean by 'plow disc thingy'. If you're talking about a separate
disc, 6-7 foot mounted or pull type in plowed ground. In soft sand, I don't think you can handle 8 without spinning out and working
it to death.

I'll recommend utilizing a 2 bottom moldboard plow I'd recommend a 6' tandem disc or pto tiller.

I think a 3 bottom moldboard is to large for a JD 820 utility tractor.

I have a John Deere 1020 which is comparable HP. I pull a JD 415 two bottom plow with 16' bottoms with our John Deere 1020. It
pulls it without an issue and does a nice job. I do have 1 set of rear wheel weights.

I have a 6' 3pt mounted disc that also works well on our 1020. I have pulled an 8 foot transport harrow as well and as long as the
soil was not too heavy it also pulled fine. An 8' foot drag harrow or 3pt hitch mounted harrow would be too much.

Dad had a brand new 820 with the seven speed trans and no power steering. He pulled a 3 bottom 14 inch plow but had the fuel turned up. A good
match would be a Deere F45 2 bottom 16 inch plow. Tom
