Three tractors on a sale in Fennimore wi.

First was a 4020, dual hydraulics and a cab -12000
Second, another 4020 single hydraulic open station - 17000
neither were consoles. Both were very nice. Is this more evidence that aftermarket cabs drag down value of a tractor?
Finally, a 4040 -$30750!

All three tractors were sold online at a live auction.

(quoted from post at 04:44:35 10/24/21) those are some really strong prices! that 4040 must have been really nice!

I would say so. Less than 6500 hours.

Paint is the least important on a good mechanically sound tractor. Also the least expensive.I use an excellent painter but only prepares and paints.I also have two mechanics[IH&JD] that can fix most anything but arent painters.I buy and sell several tractors and pretty isnt my top priority. The dealer lots are slim in inventory and good used tractors are bringing a premium.Tires and true hours plus list of what has been done are important.A recent O.H. without papers isnt worth anymore than good running tractor.

Being a buyer, seller.and user of collector type tractors I find there a different categories of buyers.Myself I like what I had when I started farming which was a 1206 and side counsel 4020.There are some that like what their Dad had, some want low houred originals and some want rare or special S.N.# tractors.Everybody seems to get along as we all have a passion for the tractor hobby.I like muscle type cars and personally like to watch an exhibitor of a brand new mid engine Corvette reaction when a Rat Rod gets more admirers than his high dollar toy. I was at Mecums sale when low houred Farmall H nothing special to me brought over $40K and will never forget the crowds reaction of disbelief. You could have heard a pin drop.
