430T Transmission

Limestone

I've got a John Deere 430T with a 4 speed transmission noise only in 3rd gear. The other gears are quite.
Any thoughts as to what it is and what I need to do to repair.
Thanks in advance.

There is a free online parts book at the JD website . This will get you started to find bearings and seals .
This link is in the general vicinity
, hard to tell on a small phone screen . https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/sidebyside/equipment/79036/referrer/navigation/pgId/280986

Thanks for the reply, I've got all the parts and service manuals. I'll be splitting the tractor this winter.

Sure there's probably a bad bearing or three but along with that comes gear wear. New bearings won't stop the noise. The only way to get rid of the noise is to remove the transmission, replace the bad bearings and or gears. Then run in the gears using lapping compound. FIT did a good write up on this year's ago.
