I worked for a readymix company as a mixer truck driver two summers, between my Junior & Senior years of college and after I graduated. I was lowest seniority driver, first guy to get special assignments, like sent down to the Big Cities on parts runs, and one time I was told to go over to the shop and see Roger. Roger told me I should pre-flight the little Deere #350 dozer and finish grade the ground under the conveyors from the sand and crushed rock bins, and the cement bin. I was warned to not chip the new concrete, don't run the little dozer on it either. There was no loose material, there was crushed rock and small cement chunks that I buried. I must have done O-K, never heard anything and the seeded it and watered it, month later it was green.
That little dozer was about at it's limit knocking the high spots down into the low spots. Hit the lever to lower the blade even a fraction of an inch more and the tracks slipped. I see videos of guys working the BIG dozers, IH TD-24/25, CAT D-9,10,11, those would be addictive!

Pushing dirt is fun . I had a little dozer on my 420 that I used to push snow . I had a dozer on my 3020 that was pretty fun to use . A big dozer would be really fun to operate thats for sure. I had to take the 3020 down and level some dirt with the loader the other day theres something about shoving dirt thats fun .

Just bought a 420 5 roller with a 90 loader.. Was only 3 miles from home & never knew about it. Could have just started & loaded it, But chose to winch it on & change all fluids be for a start up.. After 14 years of sitting , cranked for 10 seconds & started.. I knew it would not be a plug in & play unit. Will need a new clutch & seals inside the left turning clutch & what ever else. Hydraulics work fine, runs fine other that the clutch will slip. For 1000.00 bucks it isn't a life changing event. Biggest thing that bothers me is the red paint over the J/D Yellow.

I spent the good part of two years 'learning' about this 420c 4 roller. Just getting the tracks back on to move it out of the sugarhouse. Still work to do on the steering, but running out of time before winter. Have a 61 blade to put on this spring, once the final drives are serviced. It has been a fun experience!

Replaced some of the horses on his 60 acre farm of sheep, chickens, pigs, cows, walnuts, prunes, strawberry and black caps. Only source of power for over 50 years. Did all the plowing, disking, harrowing and spreading manure along with spraying and hauling irrigation pumps and pipe around. Oh and dont forget hauling trailers to carry the crops out of the steep fields because the trucks could only hang on to a few of the access roads.
Very well used machine. Very high hours
