JD A Hydraulics

I think mine is a '52 with swing lever type powr-Trol. I've purchased and installed the couplers to enable 2-way hydraulic power. Do I need to purchase some sort of seal package to keep them from leaking. They don't leak badly but they can match my MM tractors for leakage, LOL
Curt

There are internal o-rings that seal the couplers. To reseal each coupler you need 2 inner o-rings, A3190R, and 1 outer o-ring, A3606R. A total of 6 o-rings to reseal both couplers.

Check the jdparts web site for availability or google the part numbers.

They are not easy to install.

Hey Curt,
Gotta agree with Pete on installing the O rings. The outer one is not to bad but the inner one takes a good light and a lot of perseverance. Good Luck!

Thanks. I peered in there last night and yes, I can see where that inner one in particular is going to be tough. At one time I saw a tool for installing O-rings in difficult spaces like that, I may have to pursue one. Actually looks like the larger challenge might be removing the old one!

For removing the old O rings use a long shaft screwdriver with small flat blade. Also two awls, one straight and one at 90 degrees for their points. (some call the awls ice picks)
