I have a 6 volt Delco Remy generator, recently rebuilt and working, that used to be installed in my '37 Chevy. The tag number is 1101390 9J6 and the electrician who rebuilt it said it came from an antique John Deere, which hints of green paint would tend to confirm. Anyway, I now have a correct generator for my Chevy and would like to see this one find a home where it belongs. I spent $65 getting it rebuilt, give me that and postage and it's yours. Hope someone is interested.
 

The 1101390 was update introduced mid production year 1954. On the model 50,60 and spark ignition 70 .
Output is an entirely respectable 12V, 20amp at 2300rpm .
 
My model 50 tractor Parts Catalog lists the generator as (12-volt) (Delco-Remy No. 1100309). And my tractor is a 1955 or 1956 depending on which serial number list is referenced.

So is the 1101390 6 Volt or 12 Volt?
 
I just answered my own question. The 1101390 is 6 volts and used on early JD tractors. Several are listed for sale on Ebay, Etc.
 
This one is 6 volts and is mechanically sound, cut-out is new. It could use a coat of paint and I suspect is cheaper than what's being sold on ebay.

6V, 15-17 amps at 2000rpm.
 
Thanks for the advice, but I don't see the mailbox that you refer to. Good news is that I used my email address as my user name so anyone interested can get hold of me pretty easily.
 
Bumping one more time, if no takers I will be listing it on ebay. I hate the idea of some speculator picking it up, slapping some green paint on it and marking it up, but it does no good on my shelf. It will be a while before I get around to it, if this post comes up on a search at some indefinite point in the future, give it a shot.
