4250 hyd leak

My 4250 powershift developed a leak that appears to be coming from a plug the the tranny case. Can I fix it by removing the oil pan?

That plug retains the pto clutch support shaft and has shims behind it to set the bearing clearance for pto clutch. It is sealed by an o-ring on the shaft it retains. The plug and shims rust and wear over time allowing the shaft to move slightly causing the o-ring to fail, requiring tractor split to repair. The short answer to your question is 'no'.
