Loader for a 520

If you can find one model 48 with the universal mounting frames for 2 cylinders. Dad had a new one on a 720 and I sold one about 5 years ago. Tom

If equipped with a narrow front end then a JD 45 would work. They were offered with hydraulic bucket as well as manual trip bucket or could be adapted to hydraulic. Then there is the far less common 45W loader for those tractors equipped with WFE. If you are willing to do fabricating then a lot of loaders can be made to fit. There is a JD 630 on Tractor House that has a 148 loader on it.

That 630 has a 48 not a 148 loader. That does not change the point that there have been 148 loaders adapted to the 2 cylinder tractors. I've seen one in person mounted on a 730 tractor. Probably could google pictures.

I was thinking model 48 loader had only 1 bucket operating cylinder that was mounted in center of bucket & crosstube on boom. Cylinder bucket on loader on 630 is on the side of bucket with no crosstube visible.

Tom, did those loaders have bigger cylinders? I'm guessing the lower pressure of a 2 cylinder hydraulic system combined with small diameter cylinders reduced the lift capacity quite a bit...
