3020-4230 wheel swap

I have a 3020 parts tractor here with thr heavy 38 inch rear wheel castings. My 4230 has 34 inch rear castings. Will the 3020 centers fit the 4230? I know if I get all the part numbers it can be looked up but was just thinking about a future project and wondering if someone knew the answer. I would buy new wider rear rims and tires for the 4230. I dislike the 34's because the tractor sets low enough that hay will drag under the drawbar when round baling. I sometimes have turned the drawbar up to prevent it but that gets to be a pain and the 4020 needs tires so those could go on it and new 38's on the 4230. Or I could just buy a strait drawbar. Tom
 
Tom if you have correct wedges it will work.Iknow there 3 1/8 3 1/4 3 3/8 [4020/4320 4430]and 3 5/8[most but not all 4440]I think 3020 has small diameter axles than 4230
 
quickest would be buy step-up rims. a lot of after market sources available. buy rims and tires. project done!!! google 34 to 38 step up rims.
 

X2 what Larry stated. If you're referring to cast wheels with PN R48954 I think wedges from 4230 original 34'' wheels will fit 3020 38'' cast wheels to utilize on 4230 according to parts catalogs
 
It's been YEARS and YEARS since I saw my last set of extended wedges to put 38" double bevel rims on 34 inch cast wheels. The thing I see the most of now is the step-up 38" rims with the deep well to fit 34 inch cast wheels, So many in fact they almost seem "Normal" now.
I think there might have been a structural problem with the extended wedges and they were removed.

I remember when I was in high school, buddy's Dad put 18.4x38's on his 4020 in place of replacing the 18.4x34's, new cast wheels, rims, tires, tubes. He was afraid he'd have to drop a gear but must not have been a problem. This was late 1960's.
