Plowing for the first time this year. Too bad it has to be SNOW!!

looks like you did a good job plowing
where are you located? the Mark I knew long ago was in wilsonville, ont.
The Poss family were Allis Chalmers fans in those days.
I was minister in the area for a few years.

Mark,

I grew up with a 1947 G, never really thought of it as a GM but it sure looked like yours with that pan seat. I can hear it now, almost. I have a model 82 snow plow now mounted on a 70D. The OP manual I have for it shows it mounted on a 2510. I really miss the snow.

Beautiful Tom . I had a homemade dozer on my 3020 for a year and I loved that it was handy as a pocket on a skirt but I took it off because I found a loader and although it’s not near as nice to push dirt or snow with it makes it up in other areas

IIRC the GM was only during the war years-before and after they where just G’s. Story I’d always heard was war pricing related.

The GM was made past WW II. First post WW II "G" was started production in march of 1947 and continued the pan seat. It wasn't until June when the G got the box cushion seat the A/B used.

Nice looking tractors guys. Them well get the job done quickly. I have a 50 MT that dose a good job but you might as plain on been out there for a wail because on how slow it backs up. Also it has a farmhand loader on it and is very light in its build. We had a 52 G that was my dad's and that is a tractor compared to this MT. I don't see any tire chains on the back. I have some on this MT with tractor wights on the back because if I don't it just hops backing up at times.

What lifts the blade? I see cables going back, but it looks like they go under the axil and not over it where I'd expect. Curious here.

Snow fell here last night, and it's still coming down. We had a quarter inch of freezing rain the last couple days, so things are slippery. I think I'll be taking my wood cutting wagon off the A and putting it on the D. That A's handy in the woods but helpless in ice and snow. I expect your G's quite a bit better with those weights and all, plus clearing the snow away ahead of it.

Nice pictures. Thanks for sharing.

I they're like the home built rig for my A they run under pulleys and up to the power lift arms. I plowed snow with the A for a long time and it's OK for long runs but quite a workout with the non-live hydraulic and a lot of reversing.

Joel,
The plow on Mark's GM looks like an ABG90. The lift cables run under the rear axles and our connected to cultivator lift arms, with extensions, that are mounted on the rockshaft 90 degrees down from the way they'd be mounted for normal cultivator use. The cables run under the axles so the plow will lift when the rockshafts turn to the raised position.

Tom,

The PO of my 82 blade had it on a 3020 also so the side brackets you have look familiar, I had to do some shimming on my 70D. Guess you and I have something pretty special as I have only ever seen one at auction (that'll bring out the naysayers).

I have owned 4 or 5 over the years including one with factory two cylinder brackets.Years ago I would see one or two sold each year but it seems they have disappeared the last few years. Tom
