Today i rec'd my full gasket kit for the 35 B i'm working on. First thing i notice is it is the wrong head gasket. I bought this kit thru A&I Products in Rock Valley, Iowa. with a little research this kit i ordered is for a B with a serial number of 201,000 or later. No wonder it don't fit mine. My serial number is # 4458. They don't list the kit i need so where do i get what i need??

YT doesn't list the gaskets i need for this oldie but goodie.

Here is the link to the kit i got that is wrong

As mentioned to you in your previous post the local Deere dealer is the place to get it. R520679 subs for B368R. Also order 9 lead washers B369R. You will need them. Also download a parts book for the B tractor. PC676 B Tractors Not Styled

I did order it thru the John Deere dealer here which is Pape Machinery. I ordered the wrong gasket set so am trying to return it and they say they have no record of it....WTF!!!

The parts came A & I products in Iowa so I email them and they say I have to contact Pape.....WTF again!!!

I'm not a happy camper at this point.

If you gave them the correct part number
with the correct serial number I would take
my receipt along with the gasket they
incorrectly ordered and get your money
back.

When ordering parts from a tractor made 85
years ago a parts book, and operators
manual are required for working on the
machine. It gives you all the correct info
to adjust, lubricate and order the parts to
keep it going. Asking questions and advice
on the internet is great but sitting down
and reading the instruction manual on a
piece of old dangerous and inherently fun
machine is a must.

If you ordered the incorrect part honestly
it is on you no need to be upset at anyone
but the guy in the mirror. You need to send
it back the way they told you or buy a late
styled B to put the gasket set on.

Not a bad idea jd39b. I was in touch with Pape Machinery here locally who is the John Deere dealer in this area. They said bring the part back in and they would call A & I and return them. So I did that and before I got home Pape called me back on home phone telling me they can't send em back because the packaging had been opened. So tomorrow I drive about an hour round trip to pick up my parts. Need I say more

I've driven hours to get parts
before....part of the fun. Been in the
pouring rain and cold to get the right
pulley or choke rod from a junk machine
too! I strongly recommend you get a parts
and operating manual. It will help. On
the days and nights that are too cold to
install a manifold or break loose a wheel
hub, you can pour your favorite beverage
and relax and digest the changes from the
35 to 38 b or look up proper lubrication of
the axle bearings.

I ordered the correct head gasket and lead washers from Olsons gaskets in Port Orchard, WA. They shipped the parts on the 15th...still have not gotten them yet so i called Olsons today and the nice lady gave me a UPS tracking number so i ran the number on the UPS website. Come to find out the parts left their facility on the 15th and are in transit to Chelmsford, Maine on the East Coast.
Olsons is in Washington and I'm in Oregon, only approx 300 miles away. Now i get notifiacation from UPS that the delivery time has been rescheduled for December 30 . WTF is going on with UPS??
I am one ------ of Jose. Anybody else having problems with parts shipping like this?
