220/230/230/330/335 disc

any one use any of these disc ? im curious about them
neighbor claims they pull hard, but does a lot of work,
any one used one ? good or bad?
2 section or 3 section differance?

I have used a few 220s, still have one . Used a 210 and still have a 215. The black gangs are built with a little more iron. They pull no harder than any other disk of their compacity. I had a JD BWF that was 20 ft plus levelers. It pulled much easier than my 220 20ft with levelers, but the 220 would cut through sod or corn stalks twice as good as the BWF. So yes the 220 pulled harder, but got way more work done. The bigger ones have two axles per gang, so if you have a bearing go out you only need to drop the axle with problems and not the hole side. I do not like the JD scrapers that are spring loaded. After they wear a certain amount they start to squeal like a bad bearing. Everyone in the neighborhood can hear you out disking. Al

Our farm has used a 330 disc 21 foot, then got a bigger 331 27' with 9" spacing and a 3 bar tine harrow pulled it with a 8630 , then a 8850 and now the 8970 . Also have a 335 31' with 11' spacing now that pulls hard but use the 8850 or the 8970
