list prices on late styled letter tractors ?

any one have any idea what list prices would have been on the late styled letter series of tractors?
and of the implements from that time period?

Tractor Data will tend to give an idea but keeps you guessing as to if things such as wide front end axles and hydraulics are included. I would ballpark a last year A with roll-a-matic axle, hydraulics, gas engine at 2,250 list price. Deduct 250 dollars for a B with same features making it 2,000 dollars. G all fuel, roll-a-matic axle at 2,450. 3 bottom trailer plow model 55 most likely 350 dollars. FB 15 X 7 drill 500 dollars. 227 corn picker most likely 2,750 dollars. Again, all guesses based on Tractor Data. Some guys have JD price lists and I saw one on eBay a year or two ago for a very early 1950's JD equipment price book. I've got the books for 1971, 1992, and 2002. I would love to find one for mid-1980s, 1980, 1966, 1963, 1959 to mention a few. Went to a show in 2019 where a vendor had a very nice 1977 and even let look through it briefly. Maybe you will get lucky and somebody has a 1952 book that they can quote down to the penny in terms of price.

It should also be noted that JD as well as other equipment companies offered hefty discounts on last year equipment to clear inventory for the new products soon to be released.

A friend and I a few months ago were guessing as to prices when the number series (50-60-70) came out. We figured a 963 wagon at 140 dollars less tires. 45 loader with trip bucket at 400 dollars. 14T baler at its introduction 1,500 dollars. My maternal grandfather had a JD auger type table blower which I figured to be around 300 dollars new during the mid-1950's. If somebody knows different then I hope they let us know.

I have an actual JD price list book dated from 1970-71. Book is about 2 inches thick with every piece of equipment with accessories and options available in it including the prices at that time. I'd scan a couple of pages from it but don't want to be on JD's most wanted list.

It is interesting to compare the original list prices on this chart to current tractors. For example, it says that the last list price of a Deere M like I have was $1620. If you plug that into an inflation calculator for 1952 (the last year they were made) you'll find that is equal to just under $16,000 in today's money. Just for the fun of it I looked up the list price of a new Deere 3025D which has the about the same PTO power and is close to the same physical size and weight and was surprised that it wasn't much more - $17,023. The big change would be the average customer of this size of tractor. In 1952 a guy was buying an M to make a living on the farm with and today a customer is buying a similar sized new tractor to clean out the horse pen and grade his driveway.
