535 JOHN DEERE ROLLER WITH SIDE WALL WORN THROUGH

535 with the side wall warn through close to where the gate closes together, Wondering if a patch can be welded over worn place. or if you got to replace the whole side wall.Thinking the patch would cause the roll to drag on patched side. as of now the hole is half inch wide and a foot long, paper thin. any suggestions.

I've had 2 pieces of sheet metal cut & welded to the inside of each side of the tailgate of my 467. JD offers the pre-cut bolt-in panels for
X67-M series for tailgate for $682 each, I think these panels will fit your baler but I'm not 100% sure

THANKS TX JIM mine is inside the roller the tail gate is fine.i'm sure they offer the inside also.

TX JIM when you welded the medal inside your tail gate did you try to cover the whole inside tail gate or did you just patch over a wear area. i'm wanting to patch one side, but common sense would tell you there would be a drag over that patch.Don't know if it would create a problem or not.

Yes repair enhancement sheets are available for the later model balers for frt part of bale chamber @ $410 each. I just had welder cut a 4X8
sheet in half to repair tailgate sides. Installing the metal made my hay bales sides smoother.
