3940 chopper

I need to find the drivers side cover for the transmission on a JD 3940 chopper. Can someone please help me get the part number? Thanks

Are you referring to this gearcase as a transmission? If so one needs to know if this machine is setup to operate on 540 or 1000 rpm pto to correctly answer your question.
Cap(key 2) is E31541, brg housing(key 25) is E71957

No thats not the one, I think it's called the transmission. The one that I can put in forward or reverse. It is 1000 pto. Thanks

Are you positive you're stating the correct model? Entering transmission in search box in PC 1693 for 3940 comes up with disclaimer shown in photo below.

The left half of the feed roll gear case subs up to part number AE44866. The old part number was AE39770. I believe that gear case is the same regardless of whether it is 540 or 1000 RPM, since the bevel gear case to the left and rear of it is geared differently depending on input pto shaft speed to achieve roughly the same output speed.

Thanks for answering the question. I performed a search earlier for gearcase & results are i photo.

I have no previous experience with a 3940 so attempting to search for items on unfamiliar equipment on ''JD's updated parts site" is a real challenge sometimes.
