John Deere 44 Plow

I have a #44 John Deere trailer plow with hydraulic cylinder not sure how the breakaway tongue works will a regular U shaped clevis work or do i need the one that's twisted.

My 44 has the mechanical lift. It uses a twist clevis.
Can't you tell by looking at it?

With a 44H plow you don't want it to breakaway, so a different hitch was used along with a tractor clutch release, often called a "Knee knocker." Several different hitches were available, most were used with a loop on the tractor drawbar but a twisted clevis usually will work. If you can look in the parts catalog, you can decide which you have.
