JD 40 Generator Brush Holder Springs

I have found a broken generator brush holder spring on my jd 40. Any idea
where I could find one? We have a electric shop here in Union and I will
check there Monday. But it is such a small item I doubt if they would
have one for a model so old.

Likely the local shop will have one, probably a common item used in Delco generators for MANY years.

Otherwise look on-line... Original DEERE/Delco/GM part number is 1878181, replaced by 1916542, Delco short number D3951.

There's some on ebay.

You can get the complete kit on eBay pretty cheap. DB electrical I think.

Thanks, My local generator shop did have them and they even gave me one! Also found them on ebay for $9 a pair. I was surprised they were so available since they were so old!
