Finally got back to find and repair why all 4 lights came on with all positions of the light switch. In the photos, the yellow wires to the left, feed the inside lights which are to go off for "Dim" light switch position. Someone had cut the yellow feed wire loose and tied the inner and outer lights together at the fenders. My repair shows in a photo.
The two large cables in the background are the positive battery cables to the starter solenoid
To get to that, it's necessary to remove the platform. Putting the platform back in place is quite time consuming. I found it's necessary to put the two rear bolts in first. It is "magic" to get the platform spacers lined up. Takes a bit of trial and error. I thought of using longer bolts with an extra nut to hold the spacers, and put them on the platform while it is off the tractor, but I had already set the platform loosely in place and decided it's too heavy to lift off again. I finally got all 4 spacers and bolts in place without any skinned knuckles or cut fingers.
