630 slugish steerig when warm

1960 630 john Deere power steering looses power when warm ,not even hot . Rebuilt pedestal ,hydraulic pump ,new rebuilt steering valve , af2235r fluid ,new crush washers . No leaks . Steers like a new car when cool . Better than when I started but still disappointing . Would not be good with loader on although it is kind of a parade tractor . Could the actuating valve still be the cause even though it does so nice when cool ? Guess I could go there next . I got the manual sm2050 . Thanks

Got new valve from green parts of VA . Pump totally rebuilt new shaft ,follower shaft, bushings, bearing, center section, completely new from green parts .Pressure 1200 when cool under 1100 when warm .Oil temp 115 degrees ,not hot . Poor steering at idle of 600 - 700 rpms when warm . New pump seals ,Gears check tiny bit under specs but who buys gears for these things at $300. for the gears . Really wonder if these old John Deere tractors had real good power steering ?

End plates have to be ground smooth . Used gears need their sides ground square and smooth .
Centre section has to be ground narrower to make up the end clearance .
Before tearing it apart . Dial in the flow control screw for less bypass .

Depends on how worn out it is . If there is enough reserve capacity to still steer half decent with a lower performing pump .
Is there something wrong with machining the rough sides from the end plates and used gears ? Then machining the centre section to obtain Minimum clearance ?

Every one of my 6 tractors with P/S steered with one finger after I rebuilt them. Some I had to rebuild the P/S pump too. Most just needed the flow turned up. So for their age and engineering of the time, I'd say Deere did pretty good...
