Hi,
I just bought my first two cylinder Deere, a 35' Unstyled B, s/n 9078 (eight bolt front end). It starts, runs, and idles well but has a older coat of paint slapped over pitted metal that I am looking forward to restoring. This is also my first gas tractor, the other being a Fiat/White 2-60 2wd diesel, so far I love the simplicity of the B.
Its my understanding from all my searching the outerwebs that all unstyled B's were all-fuel, please correct me if I am wrong.
My question is how exactly is this plumbed up? I have a parts and operation manual but there isn't any illustrations that show how it is connected together. I'm asking because the gasoline tank was plugged up and not used on this tractor, the three-way valve isn't present and it looks like the strainer was replaced with one that will shut off fuel to the carburetor. A piece of copper pipe with a plumbing ferrule was used as well. I have the tank off to reline, it was filled with paper wasp nests.
From the gasoline tank side, do I connect a A2956R elbow strainer then a AB227R pipe to the AD680R three-way petcock to a AB228R fuel pipe to the carb?
From the fuel tank side, do I connect a AA499R strainer to the above mentioned three-way petcock?
Sorry for all the questions, I can't seem to find a service manual for these unstyled B's.
Thanks,
Marc
