ive never seen one, has anyone used one or seen one?
were they made by deere or another company and sold by john deere?

i didnt reailze john deere made so any things in the 60s

I bought a 950 Deere bunk feeder a few weeks ago in IL for my collection. I know of two former Deere dealers in PA that said they sold a dozen or more unloaders. I am sort of looking for an unloader sometime. Tom

My sister interviewed for a job on a farm many decades ago, I think in Wisconsin. The farm had a Harvestore type sealed silo, only green with a yellow top.

I'm guessing the bunk feeder and silo unloader were re-branded stuff from other manufacturers. But I could be wrong. I thought I'd heard at least the silo unloader was...

I once put a main shaft in a jd silo unloader. The jd unloaders didn't drive with a wheel on the silage or a ring like the Jamesway. The unloader rotated on a main centershaft driven by a gearbox. That shaft twisted off in the unloader I worked on.

Would not surprise me. The 1971 JD whole goods price list book I have has a section for what is called outside manufactured products. Augers, forage blowers, and fertilizer spreaders to name a few products. The bunk feeder was probably made outside but to Deere specs to in part give JD economy in getting the product built but the OEM retaining some readily identifiable looks/features.

I forgot about the blowers... they were made by a company called Kools. In the late 90's there were "Deere" tmr mixers for a bit, actually Roto-mix with green paint.

During the mid-1980's Deere was getting skid loaders and forage blowers from New Holland.

yes they did get blowers from NH in the 80's, as well as a couple generation of skid loaders. Prior to that the skid loaders came from Owatanna (sp??)
