just changed hydraulic pump in my 69 JD 450 dozer. Was wondering if there was a way I have to prime it? Just wanted to know before I fire it up tomorrow

You have been posting about working on the transmission and transmission pump. Did you change the hydraulic pump, located under the radiator, as well? If you lubed the transmission pump when you assembled and installed it; it should pick the oil up if it is correct. If you are talking about the hydraulic pump fill the reservoir, located under right side arm rest. The reservoir is above the pump and it will flood the pump so that pump doesn't need priming either.

I'm referring to the pump that the input
shaft runs through. Had to replace input
shaft cause it broke due to bellhousing
bolts loosened up

That is the H-L-R (transmission)pump. If you put some lube on the components as you assembled it, it should pick the oil up and be fine.
