Need advice on installing upper water pipe on JD 50

What is the trick to installing the upper water pipe on a John Deere 50 with new "O" rings in the thermostat housing and the upper radiator pipe casting? Thanks in advance. Don

I smear a coating of silicone sealer on the O-rings before putting them in the castings and then maybe some on the pipe. They slid right in. I just make sure to center the pipe up before the sealer sets up. Helps them go together,helps seal any pits, and helps them come apart in future if need be.

Or could try " Parkers O-ring lube" it really helps on installing O-Rings anywhere.
