I have just purchased a John Deere 48 loader for my 2640 tractor. I am looking to buy a joystick control valve and plumb a return line to the filter housing. I am just looking for some help and the correct way to do that. Also what would be a good valve to use. Thank you

Any spool around 10-20 GPM capacity that will accept a closed center conversion plug should be fine. Surplus center or Bailey hyd's are a couple of places that sell hyd valves. If your tractor requires a ported filter cover the following part # is the cheaper version from JD. L55982

Below is schematic how JD engineers attached loader hyd's to JD utility such as yours.

I forgot to state hyd fitting(key 21) attaches to rear of pressure control valve which is bolted to side of trans case close to hyd filter. If tractor has a rear hyd;s then this is same location that supplies therefor the need for a tee fitting

Would this joystick valve be correct?
