Any idea why this independent PTO Welch plug fell out

Was wondering why the there was a sudden appearance of hydraulic oil across the transmission housing and pouring into the ground .
A couple of months ago I had the shift cover off to replace the O’rings and gasket . Everything held tight until this morning .
This “Welch Plug” in the top front of the transmission case decided to pop out . Pretty sure I had the cover on there and the shifter indexed to the valve . Almost looks like the valve pushed the plug out ?

First thing to do would be to ask Buba Taylor or Billy Bob Taylor. If they don't know the answer, I would ask Mr. Thinker at the Green Magazine.

Better call that 1-800 number that you always tell people to call and order a service manual. While you are at it,order the operator manual, and the appropriate CTM manuals for the unknown tractor.

I have seen that happen before. No idea why. Cleaned it all up, reinstalled with some retaining compound. Long live the Mannheim!

Thought had crossed my mind . It was my favourite Uncles tractor so it has some sentimental value . Plus I have it setup for the 10A backhoe . Ill have to check if there is a subframe or will have to adapt one of the two sub frames I have on hand to fit a new tractor .
4WD would be nice . I should get rid of it while it has some value .

One of these days it has to have the rock shaft piston seal replaced with the update . She seeps down in a minute or two with a load .

I've seen them come loose before. I think it has to do with the steel plug in the aluminum cover. No wat the valve would push it out without the fork being broken. Newer series tractors have a retainer plate over the plug held on with a screw.
