John Deere 70 power steering pump pressure hose

I need to replace the pressure hose coming out of the power steering pump on a John Deere 70 diesel. Looks like the hood and fuel take will have to come off to get a wrench on the hose end at the pump. How should the hood and fuel tank come off? Together as one unit, or the hood first, then the fuel tank? Seems to be a bracket behind the fan going up to the air cleaner casting that will be hard to get to. Thanks.

I have just finished putting PS on my 60 std. and rebuilt the pump on a 70 gas std. a few years ago. IIRC the hood on the 70D will come off without removing the fuel tank. What gives the most access to the PS pump is removing the oil bath air cleaner which is held in place with three bolts. Be sure to seat that fitting on top of the pump as well as using a good thread sealant like Loctite 545 or it will leak.

Here I just raised the hood with tank intact after having removed the air cleaner on my 60std.
