I'm working on this for a friend - it has serial number 148770 R and has the 4 headlight set up.

PC859 shows an extra light (item 19) for 4 headlight units and no extra light for 2 headlight units.

the extra light is mounted on the top of the left fender and has amber lenses on front and back sides. Is this correct or is there an error in the wiring diagrams in the manual?

There is a tail light at the rear of the seat so what is the purpose of an extra light on the top of the fender?

To make any sense from viewing parts catalogs one must read & apply the Illustration Notes(footnotes & parts descriptions) where RC,HC & ST models are referred to. My boss ""emphatically explained that to me"" in 1965 when I was 1st employed at JD dealer parts dept after I had ordered some incorrect parts.

Plus over the yrs with catalog & part # updates & substitutions some clarification has been lost. IIRC 4020 RC tractors up through SN 091000 didn't come from factory with a warning lamp but after that SN had warning lamp on rear LH fender top. There was 1 rear lamp for night operation.

The # 19 I referenced is # 15 on the drawing you sent. Pretty sure I got that right as the numbers are very small on your drawing. This tractor also has TYPE as T213R.

May I ask what web address are you using for JD Parts ? Seems there are several sites and some look like they're (maybe after markets) trying for a "piece of the pie".

T213R indicates your friend has a rowcrop diesel with Syncro-range trans.
