Four legged Deere

This has been discussed before. When was the four leg deer discontinued? We are trying to date a 14T baler my son bought. It is in the lower serial number range.

Serial number is reliable way to research. Decals could have been replaced. Decals are interesting of course, and are always fun
to see the old ones.

I think there was a good bit of overlap and maybe not all factories changed at the same time. I have seen a good many side console tractors (built 69-72) that still had the 4 legged decals on the seat back. The sales brochures even show them that way. Most likely they used up all the existing stock as well. Tom

It appears this baler is 1956 or earlier. It has not been repainted so I assume the decal is from the factory. Thank you. We put about 100 bales through it and it made good tight square cornered bales. He inside knotter is missing a few ties, the twine isnt even twisted, looks like the bill hook never grabbed it but the twine is cut OK. When the owners manual comes we can figure it out.

I agree I used to get lucky and get parts with the old logo on them but eventually they all came with the new logo
