Deere or A&I clutch

Need to replace the clutch in my 2940.

The aftermarket clutch by A&I is half the price of an OEM one. How does the quality of the 2 compare?

I get mine from Ag Parts LTD in Iowa. Very good quality and if it is a reman they do them in house. I did 3 this spring. Hi Capacity is good as well. Tom

I am an A and I dealer and have never had a problem with their clutches. Did you know that Deere is the primary owner of A and I.
If the A and I is half priced, I doubt that the Deere is 2 times better. If you want to get yours rebuilt there is no one better
than these folks.

Can you even get a Deere clutch for it? I needed one for my 1020 about 8 years or so ago and they told me it was NLA from Deere, said they'd have to get one from A&I.

I defiantly would not recommend or use High Capacity. Just did a clutch on a 2440 and they sent me a Chinese Knock off that did not have torsion
drive hub like the original, They were provided the original Factory part number and they sent me JUNK. Sent it back and they sent me another
(China knock off) what looked like a correct part and in less than 30 days it exploded inside of clutch housing. One (new) finger broke into and
allowed assembly to come apart. When replacing it with an A&I that looked just like the High Capacity POS only thing I could see different, the
A&I had red colored springs and fingers were black like they were heat treated??. Parts quality on all aftermarket parts has went down the
crapper! Been doing clutch work on JD tractors for over 40 years and I know good parts from poor ones!

That sucks . I have a hi capacity clutch in my 4020 that’s 17 years old been on a loader tractor and it’s still going strong guess I won’t get another one . And yes sometimes it’s worth paying for oem on some things and a clutch Is a big job if it doesn’t last and you get to do it again
