hey all. Hoping you can help me diagnose travel speed problem. started intermittently, but would lose high speed from time to time. However, if you held the foot pedals in JUST the righ position, it would go back in high speed as long as you could hold it perfectly in that position. As soon as you lose that position even a fraction, back to slow speed. any ideas? Its finally now always in slow speed regardless :(

Does that one have an electric switch to engage an electric powered valve to merge another circuit into the travel circuit? It sounds like either that switch or valve engagement, if it is an electric controlled high speed or a problem in one of the pilot or main hydraulic valves. Do you have the technical manual TM1508 Test which would have diagnostic info? (TM1509 is the repair manual) You might try posting this on the Crawlers, Dozers, Loaders and Backhoes Forum. Someone there might have experience with a 690ELC excavator, or a manual to look at.
