If we could only see what's inside these things before we buy them. LOL

I bought a 3010 like that once. If I'd have written the check, then taken it right to the bone yard and sold it for a loss, I'd have saved thousands of dollars. In the end, I traded it to a jockey for a tractor that he was asking $2500 for. This was after I had dumped about $7500 in to it including what I paid for it.

Back in the "good old days" when $100 was a lot of money, you could buy this old stuff, swap a few parts around, make $100 and feel real good about it.

I'm considering it a learning experience and I have tools and access to a machine shop.

Yes - nothing is as cheap as it seems!

Non syncronized collar shift trans, 8 speed with no hi lo, does it have a park
position or a hand brake?

Ben

Handbrake - which I forgot to release when I tried to tow it into my garage - it would not move ...... then I remembered - just a senior moment. :D

Funny you should mention the pulleys...... The 1st time I tried to put it together I found out that the waterpump pulley was not pressed in deep enough to allow the fan to clear the radiator so....yup took it
all apart (wasted that gasket set) and re-pressed it in the hydraulic press to obtain the proper clearance. Additionally the Alternator mount is forward and rearward adjustable however the oil filter has to
be removed to do the adjustments. Yes, I have perfect alignment now.

Fishing taught me patience and the COVID19 lockdown provided me with the time ;)

That actually sounds pretty decent for repairs to a 40 year old tractor....and it
looks like it might go another 40!
