535 TWINE ROUTING

TX JIM---- when we got the 535 it had one eighth blue nylon twine in it. It was wrapped one full turn around the plastic roller in front. now we are using 19000 ft. green baler twine. Having trouble with twine jumping out of rollers.Question is do you have to loop the twine around rollers, or just let it ride on roller.

Back when I utilized twine I wrapped twine around wheel 1 round. Is the twine wheel angle guide adjusted to almost touching white wheel? Do twine tension plates have a groove worn in them limiting amount of tension that can be applied to twine?

The flat keeper is almost touching the wheel, inside the roller you have a tension device spring loaded that looks good no bad grooving .Really have a problem when the knot comes through we are tying a square knot small as possible. cutting off excess string.

I'm running 20,000/110 plastic twine in a 435 and having no problems with knots. I join twine ends with the recommended sheet bend knot for plastic twine. (The 435/535 Operator's manual shows using a square knot on sisal.) I run 1 loop around the indicator wheels with the guides adjusted as Tx Jim posted.

Should have a steel bushing in the plastic idler. The bushing is clamped solid with the bolt.
