My B has sat for a couple years and I was trying to get it going yesterday. The fuel smelled bad, so I drained it and put in new. It wasn't starting, so I tested the spark and had fire. Then I gave it a couple squirts of starting fluid and it finally did start and it would run ok only with the choke wide open. After several minutes it was sputtering so I closed the choke part way and it ran for a while. Probably 10 minutes or so total. Finally it sputtered and quit and it wouldn't start again. Is this likely a carb issue? What should I do next to try to get this thing to start and run? Thanks to any suggestions!

Take the carb off and clean it as best as you can using carb cleaner. If this doesn't get it to run right take it off, get the right 6" drill bits and clean all the internal passages.

A lot can happen to the fuel passages in a couple years of sitting, I went through similar issues with my 48 B.
I purchased a kit and the correct sized drills as Pete mentioned, but when I started to remove the carb I noticed that all the governor and throttle linkage joints were pretty stiff. Before I removed the carb I oiled all the joints and adjusted the throttle arm to carb as the manual describes, and the tractor started right up and runs well, that was probably 6 years ago and I never have had to touch the carb since.
