mODEL 60 CLUTCH

What is the problem with the clutch if it doesn't "snap" in place to engage. When I tighten more, it doesn't engage, less it just snaps out by the wt of the handle. The
T bolts and toggles are new replacements. Is the problem with the sliding collar in the clutch?

If the sliding collar (operating sleeve)moves around on the locating pin from wear it will give you fits trying to adjust it.

When was the last time the pulley, the driver and all the disks were removed from the tractor ? Cleaned and inspected ?

Check operating sleeve locating tab-hole and pin; is hole egged-out and pin worn; lets dogs and toggles move around causing no snap.. If this is good; need new both three dogs and three toggles, grease up and install.. No snap is usually dogs and toggles..

clutch has been apart and cleaned. Brass engaging collar was broken at one time and replaced. Never worked right since. Trying to get it working the way it is supposed too since that replacement.
