I have had a small leak on my front PTO for a few years now. Ir is leaking out the screw i tightened it and it got better but is still leaking a little. It looks like there is a aluminum washer that seals it so Im guessing I just need to replace it. Can I just take out the screw and replace the washer or will everything fall out as it looks like it holds several parts in also do I need to drain the oil out? Thanks.

There's a sort of "plunger" next to the plug, then a spring, so there will be some spring tension on the plug.

Just loosen it carefully and keep it from getting away from you and all will be fine.

I tightened it up with my impact screwdriver it was pretty tight and not sure if it turned any or not so we will see. If that does not work anybody know if I can just take screw out and replace the washer without causing any other issues with parts falling out?

Thats a good idea if it is a aluminum crush washer and it is still there that might just work.

Before removing it I'd give it a couple of whacks with a hand-operated impact screwdiver.

That will almost certainty seal it by tightening the screw a little more and squashing the aluminum ring into place, to boot.(Unless the last guy in there lost the aluminum seal ring!)
