4030 repower

I recently acquired a 4030 with a bad motor. I have a 404 motor from a 6600 combine. I want to know how hard the swap would be and what parts will be needed.

That would be a difficult one. The 4030 has a 300 series engine. The 404 will bolt to the bellhousing, but the frame rails are wrong, flywheel is different, and Im not sure the oil pan will seal the bellhousing correctly as it is a wet clutch.

If you want a nice easy and very good option for this tractor I have a complete running 359T That I would
sell. Come listen to it run in my shop and take it home. Or bring me your tractor and I can install it
for you. I have repowered 4030's gas and diesels with these engines and with 414's. I can give you every
detail it takes to do it right down to correct bolt lengths, gaskets, water pumps, flywheels and
mountings with out any modification to chassis or sheet metal. If interested send me your phone number to
my email and I will call you back. [email protected]

Not worth the headaches. Your tractor is an updated 2520 with a Dubuque, not a Waterloo Engine.
Lots of good 359 and 414 engines around. Even without a turbo a 359 will make 110HP and a 414 approx 125HP.

The 4030's came with a 329 and there are plenty of them around out of 4400 and early 6600 combines. In my area they never bring more than $1500 and often do not reach $1000 for good running take outs. You should easily be able to trade or sell yours for a good one or even bigger like posted below. Where in this post did you see anything about the 4030 being a gas? I spent some seat time on a 4030 gas and yes I would repower it in a heartbeat rather than use that dead gutless engine. I also would repower any 2510-2520 gas powershifts that I owned or trade them on diesels. Tom
