JD 40C Tracks

I have a nice 40C 4 roll machine. The tracks have just about reached the limit of adjustment and I have been trying to find someone to turn the pins and bushings. I have not had any luck yet finding someone with the right dies(fixtures) and actually having second thoughts about doing this. The machine does not get a lot of use, mostly plowing snow in the winter. It has the small idler on the front, but I have a set of nice large idler wheels. If I installed the large idlers, that would take up some of the length. I understand that new pins and bushings are NLA. Also the pins and bushings are tight in the links now, but moving them might cause some to be loose and that is a concern. Option "C" is to remove 1 link from the chains. This is what I did 50 years ago on another 40C that I had and it worked out OK. Looking for input as to what to do.

Thanks
Peter

IMHO, turning the pins and bushings is a waste of money. It takes the same effort as replacing with new parts.
