Hello,
Hoping that I can get some much needed information on my 1520 project tractor.
Gas tractor
Reverser
I 1-4, II 5-8 gears
Tractor had been sitting for 7 years and I got it running after some work on the engine. Trans fluid was changed and found to have some water in it. The pto would not engage when the tractor was running so I opened it up and found that the clutch was rusted together. I proceeded to replace the clutch and put the tractor back together. Prior to this work the tractor would run in all gears. After the clutch work the tractor will run with power in reverse. 1-4 it will run but will not go up hill. 5-8 will occasionally run but will come to a stop after it has run for a few minutes in gear. Fluid has been changed a second time to remove all traces of water in the system. pickup screen and transmission filter have been replaced. Lift arms will raise with power and steering works well.
Could there still be water in the system?
Could there be debris in the system that is causing the problem?
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
