We installed a Petronix ignition and a Super Coil with 3.0 ohms resistence it also needed a 2.0 ohm resister. I have another Super Coil it has 1.5 ohms resistence do I need a 3.5 ohm resister for it to work?

There is no correct answer for you question unless you tell us which specific version Pertronix Ignitor you have. I, II, or III?

6V or 12V system ?
tractor equipped with bypass starting ?
If the tractor does not use bypass starting. Using a low resistance coil and a ballast gains absolutly nothing.
if 12V and no bypass starting . Use the 12V 3.5 to 4.0ohm coil and no ballast.

The electronic switch you chose has a certain current rating so the coil current (which depends on its resistance) cant exceed that. Anytime a Pertronix question is asked here I always advise to check with them NOT US regarding coil and switch and plug wires to use.

Don't take a chance with that expensive switch.

I should add that both the 60 and 70 have had the Petronix I installed for several years running stock coils 1.5 ohm. It's time to add in the Super coils. The one Super coil I have is a 1.5 ohm coil.

Pertronix Ignitor I when used on a two-cylinder engine calls for a coil with a minimum of 3 ohms primary resistance. Subsequently, to use that 1.5 ohm coil, you have to add a ballast resistor with at least 1.5 ohms resistance.
