Bought a later model 2240. Guy claimed to be selling it for someone else. Think it was only to claim ignorance when I found out it real condition. Done ranting. I have a similar problem with hydraulic chatter. Read some suggestions for diagnoses a little too late. Did have to split the tractor to rebuild the PTO clutch pack. To the current question, before I split the tractor I did test both clutch and brake pressures on the port by the PTO valve. 142# at idle on both sides. When I started increasing rpms the pressure increased a little and before I could get to recommended test rpms the needle on the 300# gauge was swinging so bad I could get a pressure reading. Is this an indicator of any thing? PTO clutch was toast.
