Sold my John Deere A today

It was a 1945, ran good, had good rubber but weather checked. I hated to see it go but I wasn't an older unstyled one. The Buyer is actually going to put it to work. Should be a tractor for this guy

Nope Arlen.. this guy is going to pull around a sickle bar mower I guess

Don't know if you're "this guy" or not, but a sickle bar is wonderful on an A. My favorite way to mow hay is with my '44 A and my No. 5 mower. It's quiet, cheap to run, and I get
more leaves than with the big noisy discbine and the fuel guzzling 4040. Glad it'll be used. Old machines seem sad when they sit and watch the newer models roll out of the barn.

I also own a 1945 (hand start) model A. I have the cast wheel hubs with factory rear weights and 13.6 x 38 tires. Serial number is 554698.
