X 485 Hot Start

Hello;

I have a 2003 X485 with the FD 911 gas engine on it. Replaced the two coils after testing the one was bad.

Starts good cold. When you shut it down for lunch, then try to start it acts flooded out, won't start but with ether.

Anyone else have this problem?

Are you saying it will start with ether?

It will start on ether when hot, but it has a "labored" kind of start, kind of like the engine is flooded. Also, sometimes when running i smell fuel and cannot find any leaks.

It sounds to me like it is hot soaking.

Check the fuel line from the tank to the injection pump. Probably cracked or collapsed. Mine did that and it starved it for fuel.
