1950 John Deere A generator question

When I got the tractor running it was charging at approximately 6 amps all the time. I did not think much of it because it was charging and voltage was approximately 13.4. I took the seat and battery box off to work on the power trol leaks and found the battery had vented more than I would like. The generator 3rd brush was in the max charge position. I moved brush about half way between the max and minimum positions. I have not started it yet. I was wondering if anyone has done amperage readings when they have moved the 3rd brush ?

I have not started it yet, I have the power trol housing off replacing the gasket and some seals. It will most likely be next weekend before I get everything back together.
( Work that annoying thing that gets in the way of my hobby. )
I was just wondering if anyone has done amperage reading after moving the 3rd brush to know how much it changes.

Thanks
