JD B removing shifter detents and springs

I have the cover and shifter off the transmission of my 51 JD B and it looks like I may have a sticky detent and or spring on the hi lo shaft towards the front of the tractor. The yoke gets sticky and binds some to cause the shifter to not work well in the high range/gears. Shaft looks straight and not bent.
The yoke slides from side to side but is hard to slide off the left detent notch. How do I remove the detent and spring to check and clean or replace it? Does the shaft and yoke need to be removed to get at the detent and spring? thanks

The shaft and shifting fork will have to come out to remove the detent from the shifting fork. You can get
them out the LH side only and back in if they looked adjusted ok. There is an adjustment under the right
hand cover if it is out may need to get in there too.

I will take a look, the yoke does slide and stops in the detent grooves but it feels like there is some dirt or rust in the sliding area and it is hard to get the yoke off the left side groove. Feels like it could be rusty or some grit in the yoke/shaft area. Hope to get at it soon.
