JD 300 Backhose Hydraulic Problems

Was digging out a stump and lost backhoe function. Then I noticed power steering went away. Now it won't pull itself at all. I went to change both filters today and hardly any fluid poured out. I know it has at least 15 gallons of fluid in the machine. Runs beautiful, just no pressure anywhere.

Have you checked/cleaned the sump screen(item 30)? Also check to be sure fiter relief valve isn't stuck open(iteems 18-20).

I forgot to state industrial tractors such as your backhoe has hyd filter plumbing attached where plug(item 28) in photo is located.

Okay, I was about to ask where the object in this diagram is located. But since you pointed out the hydraulic filter plumbing, I think I know the spot. I'll go disassemble and be back to you folks shortly.

Success!! Thank you very much. The sump screen was packed with dirt and sludge. I had to remove a plug from the opposite side and tap it out. Once I cleaned it and refilled the hydraulic fluid, it works better than it ever has!
